Outdoor Dining

Participating as an alternate on the Outdoor Dining Task Force has taught me the importance of creating a solution that meets the needs of ALL members of our community. The vision we’ve created to bring back outdoor dining will enhance our beautiful town. This vision takes a new and thoughtful approach; for example, instead of putting dining decks in the street, we could widen the sidewalks and put the tables next to the restaurants with walkways on the outside. And we’ve considered additional places to dine, from rooftop decks to commercial walkstreet corners to attractive parklets scattered around town. Parking is a focus of the task force, and while we’ve considered modifying some parking to parallel, any lost spaces are made up close by. One of the goals of the Task Force is to INCREASE parking in Manhattan Beach.

There are so many ways to enjoy our beautiful town while dining outside. Beach towns and outdoor dining go together like flip flops and Shellbacks. Let’s bring it back!
